

Thalaserry Goat
Thalaserry goats are one among the recognized breeds of goats in India and are widely distributed in the Malabar region of Kerala and also reared in different places of Tamil Nadu. This breed is considered as a unique genotype exhibiting higher multiple birth percentages and higher milk yields. The Thalaserry breed is also called a Malabari breed.


Salem Karupu Goat
The Salem Black Goat is an important goat breed in the north-western part of Tamil Nadu, India. The native tract of this breed is the Salem. Salem Black goats are tall animals, completely black in colour and are a breed that is reared mainly for their meat.


Boer goat
The Boer goat originated in South Africa and their high disease resistance enables them to adapt well to nearly every environment. While the primary purpose of Boer goats is meat production, a growing number of people are keeping them as companion pets or show goats.


Mecheri Goat
This Mecheri breed, popularly known as the Semmeri Goat is originated from the region of Salem, Erode and Namakkal districts and in parts of Dharmapuri and Karur districts of Tamil Nadu. Mecheri Goats are popularly used for their meat in Tamilnadu.
